Our little princess

Phoebe doesn't like being on her stomach much. She doesn't mind being on her back if she's in a good mood. But the one position that is her absolute favorite is standing up.

Getting so big!

Our precious little Phoebe is 7 weeks old and is getting bigger and cuter every day! She has recently started standing and completely holding up her own head. She has also started smiling - I love it when I see them. They're so precious!

Round 1

Two nights ago we went to this cool place called Round 1. It's an arcade/entertainment/gambling place, but we went for all the sweet games. There are entire rooms full of all the newest arcade games. They also have lots of sports games, like basketball, archery, tennis, pingpong, boxing, etc. It was lots of fun. They also have a room with massage chairs.

A day in the neighborhood

Reading and relaxing.

It was a gorgeous day outside, so Sarah and I went out for a bike ride. There were many little reminders, such as this shrine, to pray for Japan.

For lunch we went to a gyoza restaurant and ate gyoza and ramen. Can it get any better than this?

A day in the city

(for whatever reason, the computer insists on making every picture horizontel, so bear with us on the two pictures that are meant to be vertical)

This morning we enjoyed a cup of coffee and doughnuts at Mister Donuts.

Afterwards, we went into Kichijoji and shopped around. We ate lunch at Matsuya - the best place to eat lunch in the world. What did I order? The same thing that I have ordered since high school - a large bowl of Gyudon (beef over rice). It doesn't get any better than Matsuya.

Japanese advertisements never cease to amuse me.

While walking around in Kichijoji, someone decided to film us and broadcast us on a large screen for the world to see - probably because of my rugged good looks...or was it because my zipper was down...craaap.

Enjoying an evening snooze.

A sad day for the bears...

So on top of the Bears losing the Superbowl, while I was gone to church today, the seemingly innocent cute little dog that you can see in pictures on the previous post decided that she needed to rub in their loss a little more by chewing on the brim of the cap.

Our trip to Japan

Sarah and left for Japan on the 8th of this month. It has been wonderful to come back to Japan and bask in the wonderful sights, tastes, and smells of the culture. It has also been wonderful to see my family again. One member that I have not met yet is Kiwi, the newest (and arguably the most popular) member of the family.

As Sarah and I have been recovering from jetlag, we've been getting up quite early. Our first morning in Japan we woke up at 3am. This morning (sunday) we woke up at 5:30am and decided to go for a walk. It was a beautiful morning - perfect temperature, calm, and peaceful, and a great time to hang out with Sarah and to enjoy a quiet morning in Tokyo.

Whenever a property is bought, before the building is constructed, a shrine is erected on the property and a Shinto priest will perform a ceremony to cleanse the property of demons and bad luck.

A cabbage patch in the middle of the neighborhood.

Hot milk tea from a vending machine.

A garage very unique to and tailored to the confined space of a Tokyo neighborhood.

Baby Cole

Some of you may not have heard of the newest addition to the Cole family.
Meet Baby Cole.
I think the baby looks like Sarah (hopefully).

You can see the baby's fingers!

Baby Cole's arm.

Sucking on his/her thumb?

Macy's Parade view from Silas' apartment

Over Thanksgiving, my sister flew in from CA, and then Sarah, Emma, and I all drove up to NYC to visit Silas over Thanksgiving. We had tons of fun going around the city. I can see why New Yorkers love it so much. On Thanksgiving day we spent the day with the wonderful Iverson family in Newark, NJ. The stained glass window is in Danny and Kimberly's church.
